Armed Forces Day

15th June 2021

Dear colleagues,

Armed Forces Day and the week leading up to it is a chance to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.

Wilson James will be taking part in the Armed Forces Flag Day on Monday 21st June. Please show your support by saluting our Forces in the online Armed Forces Day campaign using the hashtag #SaluteOurForces.

There is also an opportunity to join our partners, BuildForce, who are hosting a fundraising event on Saturday 26th June. This is a a Salisbury trek (aka recherche de vin!). This is a 15-mile walk that is suitable for all fitness levels and ages so is a great event for the whole family, starting at the iconic Salisbury Cathedral, meeting point: the Walking Madonna statue, we will then walk cross country from Wiltshire to Dorset, finishing in the beautiful village of Cranborne. There you’ll be greeted at The Fleur de Lys Inn, for a much-deserved cold drink and buffet. The Inn has rooms available for anyone wishing to stay over. Programme Director Caroline Logan will provide motivation and support to our walkers, as she leads the trek.

Alternatively, please feel free to host your own event locally. It can be a site walk round, an early morning stroll or a family walk! Selfies are a must, and all support is appreciated. During the event be sure to show your support by getting involved in the online Armed Forces Day campaign using the hashtag #SaluteOurForces. It is free to sign up and we ask that each person raises a minimum of £50 for BuildForce to continue its support of our Service Leavers and Veterans.

Please register your interest at with fundraising at Donations – BuildForce (

All money raised at the event will support BuildForce continue with the much-needed work we do in supporting our Service Leavers and Veterans transition into the next phase of their life, by upskilling and securing employment.

Please join us or support us. #SaluteOurForces
