The Congestion Charge and ULEZ not operating on Christmas Day

22nd December 2020

Dear colleagues,

This is to inform you that on Christmas Day, the Congestion Charge and Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will not be in operation. Both will be back in operation from Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December).

London’s alert level is Tier 4 and the Government’s message is to stay at home, only travel if you must, stay local and reduce the number of journeys you make.

If you must travel, please remember that the Congestion Charge operates seven days a week, from 07:00 until 22:00 to help improve the air quality and keep our bus services reliable.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Congestion Charge reimbursement scheme has been temporarily extended and some NHS patients may also be able to claim Congestion Charge and ULEZ reimbursements from their participating, treating hospital.
