I am pleased to share with you further changes to the IT team. I am determined that this continued investment in the team will drive greater efficiency and effectiveness across our business. That starts with simplifying every interaction you have with IT, making “getting the job done” easier and less time consuming for everyone.
As part of this journey, I am delighted to announce the promotion of Darren Salmon to the role of IT Director. Darren has been with the organisation for around 15 years and in that time has led the IT team. In 2019, Darren undertook the role of IT Security Compliance Manager and successfully attained ISO27001 accreditation. Darren will assume responsibility for Infrastructure, Service Desk, and IT Security. I look forward to Darren’s support in delivering on our ambition to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness across our IT services.
It also gives me great pleasure to announce that Hayley Lord, James Carruthers and Martin Rollings have been promoted to Senior Managers.
Hayley, who is known across WJ as “The Darling of time and attendance”, recently took on the important role of IT Business Partner – HR & Payroll. This crucial role will deliver much needed changes to the way we onboard and manage our greatest assets – our people.
Martin, having joined us over a year ago, has been instrumental in driving effectiveness in Aviation through greater and more targeted use of technology.
James has been a key player in ensuring our IT infrastructure is well managed. Over the next 12 months, his expertise will be crucial as we embrace cloud technology and define better ways of supporting WJ’s personnel.
Dean Smith has been appointed to the role of IT Business Partner – Security and will drive transformation and new working practices, providing ‘close in’ support to Barry Dawson and his team. Jacqui Lai will take on the role of IT Projects Manager and will continue to ensure robustness in delivery of IT projects as we continue to drive and deliver change.
And finally, a special mention to two new team members; Megan Harrington and Tegan King who have joined the team as Timegate Coordinators reporting to Hayley Lord. In a short space of time, they have already started to drive business value and I have high expectations for their contribution over the coming year.
All roles are effective from 1 September 2021. I am sure that you will all join me in congratulating the team on their appointments. This is a significant step forward, adding the capability and capacity to deliver on our ambitious plans to continuously improve the IT service and your experience of working with technology in Wilson James.
