Moves and Appointments in Security South Region

24th October 2019

Over the past several months the Security Southern Region has won additional market share and retained a high volume of contracts. Due to this growth and retention we are pleased to announce some new positions within the business and some account management changes.

Strategic Projects Director

This new position will work closely with the mobilisation team to ensure that once the new business has been mobilised we stabilise each contract as soon as possible. The position will also ensure new managers are trained in the Wilson James processes. This will not only aid the new manager but also maintain compliance within all of our accreditations. The post holder will also ensure the remaining business within the southern region maintains compliance, undertake training needs analysis and will enhance the Security Southern Region’s strategic journey.

I am pleased to announce that Yvonne Alexander has been recruited for this position. Yvonne has a wealth of experience operating at a senior level within the University of East London as Head of Security and Emergency Response. Prior to this Yvonne worked for London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games as Deputy Head of Security. Yvonne started with the business on 3 September. Yvonne will report to Barry Dawson, Regional Operations Director.

Event Manager

Over the past several years the business has grown our Events offering within our client base with clients such as, Google, Facebook, the Museum Consortium etc. The business has also managed some high profile events, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award’s South Downs trek and the British and Irish Airports Expo. We have taken to decision to expand this service offering to the wider Events sector.

I am pleased to inform you that Lee Evans has been promoted and took up his new position as of 1 October. Lee has delivered a high level of service across our Events service and his promotion is well deserved.  We are delighted to have Lee on board in this new position. Lee will report to Rhian Woolrych, Strategic Account Director.

In addition to the above we have also seen two Account Management changes within the Southern Region portfolio.

We have a new Account Director at one of the largest single site contracts within the City of London. Tarquin Halse joins the Security Southern Region form the Aviation Division. The Broadgate campus has 14 high rise multi tenanted offices and we also manage the communal areas around Liverpool Street Station. WJ deploys over 200 officers across the contract and we wanted to recruit an Account Director who had the experience to deliver a strategic change across this vast, complex and unique location. As soon as I met Tarquin I knew he was the person for the job.

Tarquin has only been in post for a few weeks and has already made a positive impact with all of our junior and senior clients at Broadgate. Tarquin also reports to Rhian Woolrych.

Warner Bros.

Wilson James won the Warner Bros. contract back in 2017. We started to deliver the service on 1 November 2017 and have had some challenges along the way. This is also a very complex contract, which includes three locations:

  • Radlett is a low profile warehouse facility
  • De Dane Lea which is Warner Bros. world class post production location situated in the heart of Soho
  • Leavesdon which is where Warner Bros. film some of the best box office movies, and is the location of the famous Harry Potter Tour.

Leavesden is by far the most exciting place to visit, but comes with a hug amount of challenges from a security perspective. WJ required a unique person to manage the contract. I am delighted that Daniel Spackman has been appointed as the Account Director. Daniel has been with WJ for 18 years and has the experience required from managing the BBC and BP contracts in the past. Daniel will also report to Rhian Woolrych.

Please join me in wishing Yvonne, Lee, Tarquin and Daniel all the best in their new roles within WJ!
