TFL Speed Reduction

5th March 2020

TFL Speed Reduction

Dear colleagues,

Over the next few years, TFL will be going through some major changes which will ensure the roads are safer and the air is cleaner throughout London.

One of the key changes will be reducing the speed limit in central London to 20mph, which will be implemented as of today, 2 March 2020.

Safety is paramount and TFL know if someone is hit at 30mph, they are 5 times more likely to die than if they are hit at 20mph. This is part of the mayor’s commitment to Vision Zero, which will guarantee there are zero deaths and serious injuries on London’s roads by 2041.

With this in mind, we want to remind all Wilson James drivers that it will now be an offence to drive above 20mph in central London and, due to the nature of the subject, it will be heavily enforced by TFL, so please be careful and cautious.

We would like to ask all our drivers to respect and comply with these new laws, allowing for a safer London.

If you wish to seek more information on which roads are affected by the speed limit change, visit TFL’s safe speeds webpage, or contact

Wishing you a safer driving experience.

Kind regards,

Liam McMenamin
