Wilson James wins Inspiration in HR Award

After winning the ‘CSR Initiative of the Year’ in 2019, this year we’re celebrating another recognition at the SFEX Awards – ‘Inspiration in HR’!

Staff wellbeing is a priority at Wilson James, but it is safe to say that 2020 has provided more challenges to colleague mental and physical health than previously faced. In response to the coronavirus outbreak, our ambitious initiatives under the Keeping Well umbrella have made a big difference not only to every individual at the company but also to the business environment.

The Keeping Well Programme aims to provide colleagues with information, support and direct access to senior leadership during a period of significant disruption and uncertainty. This initiative pushed Wilson James to integrate its HR, learning, communications, and operational platforms in innovative ways – webinars and virtual sessions, podcasts and written wellbeing resources were all delivered via the WJ Hub, live sessions, email and SMS.

The benefits have been extraordinary and include improved industrial relations and client confidence. But of course the most rewarding aspect has been the many comments and messages we’ve received from colleagues around the business, both working and on furlough, about how they have felt connected to or supported by the Wilson James team during this time.

At Wilson James we believe a focus on employee wellbeing is good for business as well as simply the right thing to do. Being able to respond to the challenges of COVID-19 in such an unprecedented way is rewarding, but to be recognised by our industry colleagues for our efforts is very gratifying.

The Keeping Well programme may have been launched to help our business respond to the needs of colleagues during COVID-19, but it is now a permanent part of our wellbeing agenda, with activities and updates already planned through summer 2021. We look forward to continuing to evolve its content and resources to meet the needs of our colleagues.

In the meantime, congratulations to the teams who developed and launched this campaign for their hard work and dedication to the wellbeing of our workforce. We’re delighted to see it recognised more widely!
