A longstanding commitment to giving back
Wilson James is committed to being a responsible business and giving back to the communities in which we work.
For us responsibility means:
- Valuing, engaging and rewarding our diverse employees
- Giving back to the communities in which we work
- A firm commitment to reducing our impact on the environment.
We recognise that this is vital to being a successful business. We feel we can achieve so much more for the environment, society and communities by working closely with clients, employees, stakeholders, regulators and suppliers.
Our Priorities: People, Planet & Performance
People
Our people are our priority. As a responsible employer: we are committed to paying fair wages, thorough staff training and a strong focus on wellbeing.
Planet
Environmental protection is integral to our position as a responsible business and we seek to minimise energy, water and paper usage, through design, infrastructure and behaviour.
Performance
Doing the right thing is a feature of all our performance objectives. We track and measure our performance with a focus on responsibility and sustainability.
Award winning CSR in action
We are proud to have recently won the 2019 CSR Initiative of the Year of the Security and Fire Safety Awards.
CRISIS- our 2019-2020 Charity Partner
Each year Wilson James supports a charity and this year we’re supporting Crisis to help end homelessness in Great Britain.
Our partnership includes a programme of fundraising activity, involvement in their core campaigns and volunteering opportunities. Our hope is that the partnership enables everyone at Wilson James to make a direct and meaningful contribution to helping people who are homeless.
Some of the other voluntary organisations we work with:
Wilson James is a Living Wage Foundation ‘Recognised Service Provider’. We proudly work together to promote the real Living Wage. We believe in paying a decent wage to our staff, who carry out vital work for many organisations, and therefore always provide a Living Wage costed bid to all our clients. We also pay the Living Wage to all staff in our head office and core functions.
Wilson James has been a supporter of the Time to Change campaign since 2017 and is committed to change how we think and act about mental health in the work place.
Wilson James is a proud supporter of the Armed Forces Covenant and currently holds an Employer Recognition silver award.
Wilson James is a corporate partner to the D of E. We support the Charity towards its aim of 2 million young people in the UK benefitting from their DofE by 2020, regardless of any barriers.
Wilson James is a member of the RLC Foundation. The Royal Logistic Corps Foundation has been established under the authority of The Council for the Regimental Affairs of The Royal Logistic Corps with the purpose of promoting professional excellence within the Corps. It provides a focus for professional engagement with external logistics organisations from industry, academia, professional bodies and the professional media.
