Sam O’Dwyer has joined Wilson James in a newly created role as Strategic Director – Aviation Services. This appointment caps off a significant period of growth for Wilson James, including new contracts with Edinburgh Airport, Belfast International Airport, and Heathrow Airport.
Several existing operational functions within Wilson James were reorganised to respond to this growth and better address the needs of the aviation industry. Sam now heads a first class leadership team, designed to deliver service excellence and strategic partnerships for clients throughout the UK.
Sam joins Wilson James most recently from ARUP, where she provided Advisory Services. She previously held roles with Gatwick Airport and British Airways and brings a broad range of experience and expertise to Wilson James’ newest service line.
Gemma Quirke, Managing Director for Security and Aviation Services, said: “Previously, our work in the aviation industry was divided between our security and construction logistics arms. While we saw tremendous growth in the number of our contracts, we recognised that there was a need to set ourselves apart in the aviation field. A new service line was the result, combining the skills of our many in-house experts and operatives into one aviation team. To have Sam O’Dwyer on board is an exciting addition and we warmly welcome her to the Wilson James family.
We view this role as an investment, allowing us to look to the future of the industry and develop products that demonstrate insight and deliver real value for our clients. Sam brings a new approach to the development of the business which, along with our existing talent for service excellence, we believe will continue to keep us at the forefront of the sector.”
Sam O’Dwyer said: ‘I am delighted to join the Wilson James Aviation team during a period of exciting growth. I look forward to developing our aviation strategy, building on the business’ reputation for service excellence and talent, and taking the opportunity to position Wilson James as a leader in the sector.”
